Cookie Policy
Last updated: 27 May 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Nukio ("we", "us", or "our") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies when you visit nukio.app or use the Nukio web application. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember information about your visit — such as your preferences or login state — making your next visit easier and the site more useful to you.
Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and IndexedDB, which we also use in the web app for performance and offline functionality.
2. Categories of Cookies We Use
2.1 Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are essential for the Service to function and cannot be switched off. They include:
- Authentication tokens — keep you signed in across page loads.
- Security cookies — protect against cross-site request forgery (CSRF).
- Session state — temporary storage used during a review session or content creation flow.
Because these are essential, they do not require your consent under applicable law.
2.2 Functional cookies
These cookies remember choices you make to enhance your experience — for example, your preferred theme (light or dark) if you have changed it from the default.
2.3 Analytics cookies
We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand how users interact with the Service — which features are popular, where users drop off, and how the app performs. Analytics data is aggregated and not used to identify you individually. These cookies are set only with your consent where required.
2.4 Advertising cookies
On the free tier, Nukio may display ads. Ad networks may set cookies to serve relevant advertisements and measure ad performance. You can opt out of interest-based advertising through your device privacy settings or by upgrading to Nukio Plus (ad-free).
3. Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies are set by third-party services we use, including:
- Google — if you sign in with Google, Google may set cookies as part of the OAuth flow.
- Analytics providers — to measure usage and performance.
- Ad networks — for free-tier users only.
We do not control third-party cookies. Please refer to the respective providers' privacy and cookie policies for more information.
4. How to Manage Cookies
4.1 Browser settings
You can configure your browser to block or delete cookies. Common instructions:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data.
- Safari: Settings → Safari → Privacy.
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
Note: blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in and using the Service.
4.2 Opt-out links
For interest-based advertising, you can opt out via the Digital Advertising Alliance or Your Online Choices (EU).
4.3 Mobile devices
On iOS and Android, you can limit ad tracking in your device privacy settings. Nukio's native apps use Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework and request permission before accessing the IDFA.
5. Do Not Track
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. There is currently no industry-standard response to these signals. We do not alter our data collection practices in response to DNT signals, but you may use the opt-out mechanisms described above.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy as our practices evolve. We will revise the "last updated" date and, for material changes, notify you in line with our Privacy Policy.
